SINGE MOTHER IN THE PROGRAM OF SUPPORT OF SOCIALLY VULNERABLE GROUPS

Palilula Municipality already several months helps socially vulnerable, old and elderly, women and children, disabled and elderly who are immobile and who depends on others people`s help. Thanks to the project “Strengthening of Municipal capacity to improve the quality of life for socially vulnerable groups”, were obtained very good results both in the city and in the settlement of rural area of Palilula.

President of City Municipality of Palilula, Prof. Dr Igor Novakovic with associates and mobile team which provides services to socially – vulnerable residents of settlements in Palilula Municipality, visited Snezana Pavlovic, thirty – eight years old single mother, who lives with son Danilo in Gornje Medjurovo. Two older daughters Milena (28 years old) and Milica (20) formed own families and recently gone from the mother. Life of Snezana Pavlovic became a real drama after divorce and serious illness which has befallen. Without money and any other help, this brave woman looked for the way to provide basic existence to her children. Minor son Danilo, who is currently with mother is student of school “12th February”, learn the mechanics. Snezana heard for the project of Palilula Municipality and by persuasion of her neighbors turned to the help.

Services of mobile team of the project are free – says President of Municipality Igor Novakovic and includes medical assistance to vulnerable categories of citizens, measure of blood pressure and blood sugar, providing medical advisory assistance, psycho – social assistance and support of legal assistance. In this case, in conversation with the President and representatives of Center of Social Work identified opportunities to qualify Snezana for one – time help from program of social protection and reimbursement of part of medical expenses; access to water supply and sewerage network and remediation of moisture and painting the building in which she lives.
